Tulloch at War

Tulloch at War follows Douglas Tulloch and the Lothian Rifles from the troubled 1930s through the final campaigns of the Second World War. Frontier service in India leads into the retreat to Dunkirk, North and East Africa, El Alamein, Sicily, Normandy, the Netherlands and the advance toward Germany.

The series concentrates on the burden of command within a regiment whose cohesion is repeatedly damaged and rebuilt. Intelligence officers, political schemes and suspected betrayal run alongside battlefield action, while Tulloch’s development from junior officer to major shows how prolonged war changes judgement, loyalty and the meaning of duty.
