Hundred Days Offensive
8 August–11 November 1918
The Hundred Days Offensive began with the Battle of Amiens on 8 August 1918 and continued through a succession of Allied attacks across the Western Front. Combined artillery, infantry, aircraft and tanks broke through positions that had resisted earlier offensives.
British, French, American and other Allied forces pushed the German armies back towards the frontier while the Central Powers faced military defeat and political collapse. Casualties remained severe even as negotiations for an armistice accelerated.
