Silent-Era Hollywood in the 1920s was an expanding industrial and cultural world of studios, location shoots, publicity departments, contract performers and increasingly powerful producers. Los Angeles attracted actors, technicians, migrants and investors, while motion pictures created new forms of celebrity and mass entertainment.
