The Wolf Pack Spies trilogy follows a British network operating inside Nazi-controlled Europe. Agent in Berlin establishes Barnaby Allen’s agents in Germany before and during the early war; Agent in Peril sends them into the danger surrounding the Warsaw Ghetto and the RAF bombing offensive; and Agent in the Shadows moves the story to Lyon during the 1943 crisis within the French Resistance.

The Wolf Pack itself is fictional, but the novels increasingly intersect with documented events and people. By the final book, the historical arrest of Jean Moulin and the activities of Klaus Barbie form the framework for a fictional investigation into betrayal, giving the series a darker and more explicitly historical conclusion.
