Warrior’s Path

Warrior’s Path follows Highland soldier Hugh MacKim from the aftermath of Culloden into the global conflict of the Seven Years’ War. His pursuit of vengeance carries him through service with Fraser’s Highlanders in North America, winter warfare around Quebec and campaigns against French possessions in the Caribbean.

The trilogy connects the destruction of the Jacobite cause to the incorporation of Highland soldiers into Britain’s expanding army. MacKim’s private oath repeatedly collides with military discipline, Indigenous alliances, colonial violence and the possibility of a life beyond revenge.
