The Treasures of Nome

The Treasures of Nome follows the Powell sisters on their family dairy outside Nome, Alaska, after the height of the gold rush. Beginning in 1904, the trilogy traces Havyn, Madysen and Whitney as music, farm work, sled dogs, illness and long-hidden family secrets shape their attempts to preserve the household built by their grandfather.

Each novel centres on one sister’s romance, but the larger story is about a family adapting when the speculative boom begins to fade. The series contrasts promises of sudden wealth and public success with the steadier demands of labour, forgiveness and community responsibility in an isolated northern settlement.
