Age of Attila

The Age of Attila series follows the intertwined lives of Flavius Aëtius and Attila during the fragmentation of the Western Roman world. Its opening novel begins when the young Roman Aëtius is sent as a hostage among the Huns and forms an unlikely bond with the boy who will become their most formidable ruler.

The sequence uses their changing friendship to explore warfare, diplomacy and survival as Roman authority weakens and Hunnic power expands. Historical figures stand at the centre of a long conflict in which personal loyalty is repeatedly placed against family, empire and ambition.
