Saifuddin Kitchlew
1888–1963
Saifuddin Kitchlew was an Indian nationalist lawyer and political leader whose arrest in Amritsar on 10 April 1919 helped precipitate the crisis that led to the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
Kitchlew was a leading opponent of the Rowlatt legislation in Punjab and became a prominent figure in the Indian independence movement.
