Larissa Salmina-Haskell

Larissa Salmina-Haskell was a Russian art historian, curator and translator specialising in Italian and Venetian art.

After surviving the Siege of Leningrad, Salmina trained at the Leningrad Academy of Fine Arts and became curator of Italian drawings at the Hermitage. Parallel Lives follows her Soviet career, her work at the 1962 Venice Biennale and her marriage and emigration to Britain with Francis Haskell.
