Ardaric

Ardaric was king of the Gepids and one of the most important subject rulers in Attila’s Hunnic empire. After Attila’s death he led a coalition of former dependants against the Huns and won the Battle of Nedao in 454, helping to break Hunnic dominance in central Europe.

In Cecelia Holland’s The Death of Attila, his sons divide the inheritance while Ardaric and other subject rulers prepare to rebel, forcing Tacs and Dietric to choose between friendship, family and political survival.
