Tim Holden

1979

Tim Holden is a British author of historical fiction whose novels place real and invented characters within the political, military and social conditions of the past. Born in Norfolk in 1979, he continues to live there with his family. His work begins with established historical events and focuses on the motives, limitations and personal decisions that shaped their outcomes.

Holden is particularly interested in Anglo-American history and in episodes that have been simplified or interpreted differently on either side of the Atlantic. His books include Spirals of Fate, Rivers Run Deep, New World Order and Rule Britannia. Through these novels, he explores imperial ambition, political miscalculation, cultural division and the human consequences of historical change.
