Suetonius was a Roman biographer whose Lives of the Caesars shaped later images of the first emperors.
Suetonius served in the imperial administration and wrote biographies including the Twelve Caesars. His works organise emperors by ancestry, public acts, private habits, scandals and death, preserving anecdotes that strongly influenced later historical imagination.
