Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and scholar whose works shaped ancient and later thought across logic, ethics, politics, science and literature.
Aristotle studied in Plato’s Academy, later founded the Lyceum and taught Alexander the Great. His surviving works cover logic, metaphysics, ethics, politics, rhetoric, poetics, biology, psychology and natural philosophy.
He belongs in Classical as one of the major ancient intellectual authorities. His work supports pages on Greek philosophy, Macedon, Alexander’s world, political theory, rhetoric and the ancient classification of knowledge.
