Tamera Alexander is an American author of Christian historical romance and women’s fiction, known for combining carefully researched settings with stories of faith, reconciliation and personal renewal. A USA Today bestselling novelist, she has twice won both the Christy Award and the RITA Award and has received numerous other honours within inspirational and romantic fiction. After living for many years in Colorado, Alexander moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where her proximity to historic houses and Civil War sites helped shape much of her later work. Her novels frequently incorporate real buildings, historical figures and documented events, while concentrating on women attempting to rebuild their lives after bereavement, war, scandal or social exclusion.

Alexander’s first series, the Fountain Creek ChroniclesRekindled, Revealed and Remembered—and the Timber Ridge Reflections trilogy—From a Distance, Beyond This Moment and Within My Heart—are set in the frontier communities of nineteenth-century Colorado; her standalone novel The Inheritance also takes place in the Colorado Territory. She later turned to post-Civil War Tennessee in the Belmont Mansion novels, comprising A Lasting Impression, A Beauty So Rare and A Note Yet Unsung, and the Belle Meade Plantation series: To Whisper Her Name, To Win Her Favor, To Wager Her Heart and the novella To Mend a Dream. Her Carnton novels, beginning with Christmas at Carnton and With This Pledge, draw upon the Battle of Franklin and the experiences of those who lived and worked at the historic Carnton estate. Across these series, Alexander combines romance with subjects including frontier settlement, racial inequality, women’s employment, wartime nursing and the difficult reconstruction of Southern society after the American Civil War.
