The Women of Cannon Beach

The Women of Cannon Beach series is based on Mary Edwards Gerritse, who carried mail along the dangerous Oregon coast and challenged expectations about women’s work and domestic fulfilment. Beginning in the 1890s and continuing into the early twentieth century, the novels follow Mary, her family and neighbouring women through coastal travel, illness, secrets and generational change.

The series balances adventure with family history and a Christian search for purpose. Mary’s independence never removes the claims of marriage, children or community, and each volume asks how a woman can honour those relationships without surrendering the abilities and calling that make her life distinct.
