Suksaha was a Manchu statesman and one of the four regents for the young Kangxi Emperor. His rivalry with Oboi ended in prosecution and execution, strengthening Oboi’s control of the regency. His fate forms part of the court background in the first volume of The Deer and the Cauldron.
