Jennie Churchill

Jennie Churchill, born Jeanette Jerome, was an American-born British society figure, political hostess and the mother of Winston Churchill.
The daughter of New York financier Leonard Jerome, Jennie grew up partly in Paris and married Lord Randolph Churchill in 1874. She became a prominent figure in aristocratic and political society, supported Randolph’s career and later promoted the ambitions of their son Winston. Widowed in 1895, she remained publicly active and entered two later marriages.
