Nazi Forced Labour

During World War II, Nazi Germany deported and compelled millions of people from occupied Europe to work in agriculture, construction and armaments production. Conditions varied by category and nationality but were shaped by coercion, racial hierarchy, restricted movement and inadequate food and housing.

Forced labour placed foreign workers inside strategically important factories and transport systems while isolating them from local society.
