Zero Six Bravo

During the invasion of Iraq, an SBS patrol is inserted to observe and disrupt enemy forces around a strategically important area. The soldiers discover that their position lies within the movement of a far larger formation, leaving a small special-forces unit exposed without the conventional support expected for a battle against massed troops.

Lewis reconstructs the patrol’s attempt to hold, evade and call in fire while communications and extraction remain uncertain. The account concentrates on the practical decisions that allow the men to inflict damage and survive despite the disparity in numbers, as well as the physical and psychological consequences of sustained close combat.
