Stokehurst Family

The Stokehurst Family novels connect an English aristocratic household with Imperial Russian exile, secrecy and supernatural memory. Midnight Angel follows a Russian noblewoman hiding as a governess; Prince of Dreams develops the family story through a Russian prince whose relationship with Emma Stokehurst crosses ordinary boundaries of time and identity.

The sequence blends romance, Gothic suspense and historical fantasy. Rank, political vulnerability and family belonging remain central, but the second book’s dreams and movement into Russia’s past make the duology deliberately less realistic than Kleypas’s society-based series.
