Kennett’s Campaigns

Kennett’s Campaigns follow Gregory Kennett, an inexperienced officer of the 136th Foot, through the French Revolutionary Wars. The first novel places him amid the collapsing Allied campaign in Flanders; the second carries him into Caribbean warfare and naval unrest while he hunts an enemy agent within British ranks.

The sequence treats soldiering as a mixture of endurance, improvisation and political uncertainty rather than uninterrupted heroism. Kennett’s loyalty is tested by refugees, secret intelligence, mutiny and officers whose private histories may be more dangerous than the enemy in front of them.
