High Country Ranch

The High Country Ranch series centres on the Oakley family and their neighbours in the Colorado mountains, where ranch work, teaching, trapping, small business and family obligations shape everyday survival. Each romance develops from an existing bond or practical arrangement, including friendship, guardianship, marriage of convenience and the need for protection.

The five books form a close family sequence about loyalty and belonging. Their Christian themes are lighter than in some of Jody Hedlund’s earlier historical novels, but forgiveness, honest commitment and care for vulnerable people still guide the characters as they move beyond fear, abandonment and divided loyalties.
