Shi Lang was a naval commander who transferred from the Zheng regime to Qing service. He led the 1683 campaign that defeated the Kingdom of Tungning and brought Taiwan under Qing control.
Shi Lang was a naval commander who defected from the Zheng regime to the Qing dynasty and became central to Qing plans against Taiwan. In 1683 his fleet defeated Zheng forces at the Battle of Penghu, leading to the surrender of Zheng Keshuang and Qing incorporation of Taiwan.
In Jin Yong’s The Deer and the Cauldron: Book 3, Trinket promotes the admiral Shi Lang, encounters Zheng Keshuang and becomes entangled with the Russian regent Sophia before serving in the negotiations associated with the Treaty of Nerchinsk.
