Historical person
Letitia Carson
c. 1814–1888
Letitia Carson was a formerly enslaved Black pioneer, farmer and midwife who crossed the Oregon Trail and successfully pursued property claims in Oregon courts.
This person is linked because Jane Kirkpatrick portrays the historical figure under their own identity. Dialogue, private motives and undocumented incidents are imaginative reconstruction and should not be read as a complete biography.
