The Kangxi Emperor was the third emperor of the Qing dynasty and ruled China from 1661 to 1722.

His long reign consolidated Manchu rule after the conquest, suppressed major rebellions, expanded Qing authority, sponsored scholarship and managed relations between the imperial court and Jesuit specialists.
