Jebe

c. 1181–1225

Jebe was one of Genghis Khan’s most important field commanders. After entering Temüjin’s service, he became renowned for long-range campaigns and helped extend Mongol power across Central Asia and into the Caucasus. In Legends of the Condor Heroes he appears during Guo Jing’s upbringing on the steppe.

Jin Yong’s fiction uses this historical figure within a narrative that blends documented events, popular legend and wuxia invention.
