Battle
3 December 1848
The Battle of Sadullapur followed British attempts to turn Sher Singh Attariwalla's position on the Chenab after Ramnagar. A force under Joseph Thackwell crossed upstream and approached the Sikh flank.
Delay and uncertainty allowed the Sikh army to withdraw before it could be trapped. Fighting occurred, but neither side achieved the decisive result anticipated by British command.
The action prolonged the campaign and allowed Sher Singh to move towards the terrain where the Battle of Chillianwala would be fought.
