Escape of Henry “Box” Brown

Henry “Box” Brown escaped slavery by having himself shipped in a wooden crate from Richmond to abolitionists in Philadelphia, later becoming a public speaker and performer.1800–1865, it brings together enslavement, resistance, secrecy, abolitionist networks and the pursuit of freedom.
