Condotierri

The Condottieri series follows Flavio Sabatini through late-medieval Italy, where city-states, papal factions, mercenary captains and local loyalties compete for power. The books use the world of the Western Schism and Italian city-state warfare to place Sabatini between hired service, private survival and the demands of towns threatened by larger political forces. Although the exported series title is retained for import matching, the subject is the condottieri world of military entrepreneurs, shifting alliances and pre-Renaissance Italian conflict.
