Viking Saga

The Viking Saga follows the fictional Harald Sigurdson across three voyages at different stages of his life. Viking’s Dawn takes him from adolescence into the violence of raiding around Britain. The Road to Miklagard sends the young warrior through the trade and military routes leading towards Constantinople. Viking’s Sunset returns to an older Harald whose pursuit of revenge becomes a final North Atlantic expedition.

The sequence combines maritime adventure with a progressively less romantic view of conquest. Harald learns first to survive, then to lead, and finally to accept the limits imposed by age, distance and chance. The trilogy uses one life to represent several forms of Viking movement: raiding, trade, mercenary travel, settlement and exploration.
