Brigham Young
1801–1877
Brigham Young was the second president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the principal organiser of Mormon migration to the Great Basin. As territorial governor and church leader in Utah, he directed settlement, irrigation and institutional expansion while presiding over conflicts with federal authority and Indigenous communities.
